Cotralian is a designer dog breed that is obtained by crossbreeding an Australian Shepherd and a Cocker Spaniel. These dogs are medium to large. Their personality is very loving and playful. They like to spend time with people. These dogs may become aggressive sometimes. So, they should be kept away from small children and pets. For their aggressive nature, special training sessions are required. They should be socialized at the early stage of life. Their looks resemble both the parent breeds. They are intelligent like their parents and can be trained very easily. These canines are suitable for mild temperatures. 

Cotralian Temperament

The temperament of a Cotralian is a mix of both parent breeds. They are quite aggressive dogs that can become harsh sometimes. So, they should not be left alone with the kids. Their average weight is within the range of 30 pounds to 60 pounds. These beauties cannot be carried in a lap. The size of a male Contralian does not differ from a female dog. They are usually medium in size but the dominant traits of an Australian Shepherd may increase their size up to large. They are suitable to take out for a walk or jog. 

Cotralian Lifespan

The lifespan of a Cotralian dog is longer than other large-sized dog breeds. On average, a healthy Cotralian may live for at least 12 years and a maximum for 15 years. This lifespan is perfect for these canines. They are easy to train and socialize with. If they are not properly socialized, their health may survive. They are overall healthy dogs but some genetic health problems may get inherited in them. Regular check-up to a vet is necessary to make them stay healthy throughout their life. Other than health problems, they may die because of an accident or a mishap and their life ends before completing lifespan.

The adoption of a Cotralian is recommended for those who are experienced in handling aggressive dogs. If you have a family and small kids, these dogs are not suitable for you. They may get aggressive sometimes so, never leave them alone in the house with kids or other small-sized pets. They need proper training to become obedient and affectionate towards others.
