Wiltipoll Sheep Pros and Cons

The Wiltipoll sheep is an Australian domestic sheep variety. It is a domestic sheep breed that originated in Australia from Wiltshire Horn Sheep through the introduction of Border Leicester, Poll Dorset, Poll Merino, and Perendale. Currently, the breed is mostly raised for meat production, and it is excellent for producing large numbers of lambs. This breed association was founded in 1996 and has grown significantly. 

Wiltipoll sheep require little upkeep.  It is not necessary to shear them because they shed their fiber.  If you want to buy sheep, whether they are ewes, lambs, or rams, Wiltipoll Sheep is a great option. The breed has a large build and is robust, tenacious, and sturdy. When sold for meat, they are best sold over the hooks because the meat is thin and dresses beautifully.

Twins and triplets are easily raised by the ewes, who also have excellent milking instincts. Some even succeed in raising quads without assistance.

Characteristics

While the majority of sheep are polled, several still have little horns that do not cause any issues. Ewes are characterized by their strong maternal instincts and protective nature.  A large proportion of lambs are born more than once, and they take good care of them.
