Cockerbull (Cocker Spaniel English Bulldog mix) Temperament, Size, Lifespan, Adoption

Cockerbull is a mixed dog breed that is obtained by cross-breeding a Bulldog and a Cocker Spaniel. This is not a usual combination, so these dogs have unique characteristics. As this is a rare and new breed, there is limited information available about it. The information of the parent breeds helps a lot to identify the traits of a Cockerbull. Cocker Spaniel is a high-maintenance dog while Bulldog shed moderately so their mixed breed will require moderate maintenance. The traits of Cockerbull are dependent on the dominance of parent breeds. They require consistent training to make them easygoing with kids and other pets.

    Cockerbull Temperament

The temperament of a Cockerbull is also a mix of both parent breeds. They are unique and bear a big personality in a small body. Like their parent breeds, they are also very gentle and loving to the people. They are very good family dogs. Cocker spaniel has a hunting background and possesses high energy whereas a bulldog is a dog who lays back and observes. So, their mix-breed have both traits. They are not aggressive but training is required to make them obedient. Their training is overall easy but sometimes it may be frustrating because of the stubbornness of the bulldog.

The size of a Cockerbull is small to medium. The size of the parent breeds affects the size of mixed breeds. There is a slight difference in the size of a male Cockerbull and a female Cockerbull. Females are a bit smaller and lighter than male dogs. The male canines stand up to 15 inches tall whereas female canines stand up to 14 inches from the shoulder. Talking about weight, the male Cockerbull weighs 40 pounds to 50 pounds whereas the female Cockerbull weighs 30 pounds to 40 pounds. They are compatible with small houses and apartments. You can also carry them to the market.

    Cockerbull Lifespan

Healthy Cockerbull lives for at least 12 years and his life expectancy may extend up to 15 years. They are healthy dogs but some genetic health problems may occur in them. These problems or diseases require regular checkups and treatment from a vet. Some other factors like diet, exercise, training, socialization, accidents, and mishaps also contribute to their lifespan. If they are provided with proper diet and exercise to consume their energy, their life expectancy may extend even beyond 15 years. If their health is not managed, they may die before completing their lifespan.

    Cockerbull Adoption

If you are experienced with stubborn pets, these dogs are a good choice for adoption. For a newbie, these dogs are not recommended to be adopted. They are very good family pets and easily get along with kids and other pets if trained properly. The kids should be kind and respectful to these dogs otherwise they may become frustrated and harm the children. Cockerbull is a sensitive dog and requires supervision from an adult while playing with kids. These canines are preferred to be adopted from a rescue center or a shelter home. Adoption from a reputable breeder or a pet shop would be costly.
