According to the scientists, this breed was developed by cross-breeding these two breeds. In 1970 the Coopworth sheep was seen for the first time in the United States. Nowadays, the population of these Coopworth sheep in New Zealand is not enough when we compare it to 1950. They like to live in large areas, especially green areas.

These sheep live a longer lifespan. Their life expectancy may vary from 10 years to 12 years. They are quiet and not talkative.
