Dachshund coats are classified as smooth, longhaired, or wirehaired. Dachshunds are not designed for long-distance running, jumping, or vigorous swimming, but other than that, these tireless dogs are up for anything. Chihuahuas typically form a strong bond with one member of the family. The Chihuahua often shows signs of hostility toward family members at times. The average lifespans for chihuahuas are 12 to 18 years. It is also observed that some Chihuahuas live longer than the average lifespan of 15 years. The longevity of chihuahuas is partially attributable to their small size. The Dachshund features an impressive lifespan of 12-15 years because of their small size, whereas the average dog only lives 10-13 years.Â
