Anglo Nubian goat is a resultant breed of two different goat breeds. The parent breeds involved are Indian and British goat breeds. They originated from Great Britain. It is a domestic goat breed but can also be raised for commercial purposes because they produce meat, milk, and fur. Anglo Nubian goats are beautiful by appearance and strong by body structure, so they are suitable for the goat shows. They produce quality milk which is full of butter and fat. The breeding season of Anglo Nubian goats is long, so milk production is prolonged. They are also hardy goats and can survive in hot climatic conditions.

    Anglo Nubian goat is a domestic goat breed originated from Great Britain. In the late 19th century, this goat breed was first developed. Crossbreeding was performed between native British goats and the large lop-eared goats from India, North Africa, and the middle east. These goats are differentiated from other breeds on the basis of their large pendulous ears and convex profile. Currently, this breed is found in more than sixty countries of the world, and they are commonly known as Nubian goats. Between 1920 and 1930, Nubian goats were first originated in England. In the year, 1909, these were imported to the United States.

    The Anglo Nubian goats are large goats. The average weight of a mature male Anglo Nubian goat is about 175 pounds, whereas the average weight of an adult female Anglo Nubian goat is about 135 pounds or more. These goats have European, Indian and African heritage with large sized bodies. They actively put on weight from the feed they take. They have a reasonable growth rate. Within 2 to 4 years of their life, they become mature and start breeding. As they breed, they also produce quality milk. They serve for meat, milk and fur production. The weight matters when sold in the market.

The size is one of the factors which differentiates male goats from female goats. The size increases to maturity and stops after that.

    The average lifespan of an Anglo Nubian goat is about 15 to 18 years. They take almost two years to reach their full size, and after almost four years of age, they become mature. The whole life they serve for the purpose of milk production as their milk production capacity is very good. They produce quality milk and fur. In the ending years of their life, they are butchered for their meat. They breed in some specific seasons and they are primarily bred for their milk. They produce a large amount of milk as compared to other breeds. Their vocal habits differentiate them from other breeds.
