Cairn Terrier Poodle mix (Cairnoodle) Temperament, Size, Adoption, Lifespan

Cairnoodle is a small-sized hybrid dog breed. When a miniature Poodle and a Cairn Terrier are crossbred, they produce a Cairnoodle. The poodle is the most popular breed used for the purpose of hybridization. His intelligence and hypoallergenicity are what everyone wants in their hybrid pet. Cairnoodle is the combination of an earth dog i.e. Cairn Terrier and a working dog i.e. Poodle. Like their parent breeds, Cairnoodle is also a good companion dog. Cainoodles are also intelligent because their parent breeds are intelligent. Cairnoodles are very affectionate to their people and kids. So, they make a perfect family pet.

    Cairnoodle Temperament

These dogs bear high energy that does not let them sit. They are loyal and affectionate to their family. They do not like being alone for a longer time because it may push them into anxiety and depression. Due to their small size, they should not get engaged in rough plays. Kids should play with them with respect. As far as their friendliness is concerned, they are friendly with kids, strangers, pets, and other dog breeds as well. The energy level of a Cairnoodle is more than its parent breeds. They require exercise for their physical and mental health. Overall they are playful dogs.

    Cairnoodle Size

The size of a Cainoodle is small. This is because the size of the Poodle dog used as a parent breed is miniature. The size of the parent breed primarily affects the size of the hybrid animals. The size of a male and female Cainoodle is almost the same with no difference. On average, Cainoodle weighs within the range of 13 pounds to 20 pounds whereas it stands within 10 inches to 15 inches in height from the shoulder. This size is small and needs special care while taking out for picnics, trips, and tours. They can be easily carried because of their small size.

    Cairnoodle Adoption

You should have complete information about the breed before making a move for adoption. Cairnoodles are family dogs and should not be adopted by a person who lives alone. Cairnoodles need attention and time because living alone for a long time may result in anxiety and depression. If you are a traveling person, do not adopt a Cairnoodle but if you can spare time for them, then these are a good option. In the case of loyalty, you can always count on them. They will never let you down. It is preferred to visit a rescue center for their adoption.

    Cairnoodle Lifespan

The lifespan of small-sized animals is usually longer than the lifespan of large-sized animals. On average, Cairnoodle lives a minimum of 12 years and a maximum of 16 years. You can even extend their lifespan by taking good care of their diet and exercise. You have to keep them safe from accidents and other mishaps. They may get inherited with some genetic problems. So, take them regularly to a vet for their health maintenance. Before adoption, you should have a look at their health profile to ensure their good health. If you have any doubt about their health, go on with some tests to get satisfied.
